The raids were carried out at the houses and premises of JeI members and their associates, as part of sustained efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem and its support structure at the grassroots level, said a police spokesman.

The searches were based on credible intelligence inputs indicating attempts by JeI-linked elements to revive their activities under different fronts, the spokesperson said

During the operation, incriminating material and digital devices were recovered, while several JeI members were questioned and bound down under law, the officials said

Earlier this year, a special NIA court framed charges against three Jamaat-e-Islami operatives and a trust for terror-funding activities.
