Amid escalating violence in Bangladesh, a child was killed and three others critically injured on Saturday after the house of a BNP leader was allegedly locked from the outside and set on fire in Lakshmipur Sadar upazila.

According to the police, the attack took place at the residence of Belal Hossain, a businessman and assistant organising secretary of BNP in Bhabaniganj Union.
