Feb. 2 (UPI) -- China executed another four people Monday for murder, kidnapping and drugs and sex trafficking offenses as part of a campaign tackling online scam centers in neighboring Myanmar manned by a captive workforce of modern-day slaves, including thousands of Chinese citizens.

China has executed four members of the Bai family mafia, which ran scam centres in Myanmar, state media report.

Beijing has continued to clamp down on Myanmar-based telecom scams with another set of executions. The fraud operations reportedly involve cryptocurrency investments and also have links to drug smuggling.
