This is the latest in a series of leadership disputes for the opposition bloc, which has left the coalition’s top post officially vacant since former Malaysian prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation took effect on Jan 1.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) will head the presidential council while coalition partner Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) is set to lead the bloc’s executive council.
