The notices have been issued as part of the Election Commission’s verification exercise, which has flagged voters under categories including “No Mapping” and “Logical Discrepancies”. More than 33 lakh electors in Delhi have been identified under these categories.

The election authorities have said that prominent political leaders and other well-known people listed for verification will not necessarily have to appear personally at hearing centres. Electoral registration officers can identify such cases and ask BLOs to visit their registered addresses for verification.
