The Somalian government says a roadside bomb has exploded near the presidential palace and the attack by a militant group targeted the president's convoy.

Somalia's president was the target of a roadside bomb attack on Tuesday while leaving his palace. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was unharmed. The militant al-Shabab group claimed responsibility for the attack.
