Air India on September 4 terminated the services of the pilot-in-command of the Phuket-Delhi flight who had tested positive for drug use.

The pilot’s termination comes exactly a month after the Phuket-Delhi flight suddenly lost around 300 feet in altitude, leaving 24 passengers and crew members injured on August 4.

Regulators confirmed the pilot of an Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi tested non-negative for psychoactive substances following a severe turbulence incident that injured passengers.
