Swiatek crushes Anisimova to win first Wimbledon tennis singles title

Iga Swiatek won her first Wimbledon title in dominant fashion on Saturday, defeating Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes.

The 24-year-old from Poland, already a four-time French Open and one-time US Open champion, captured her first grass-court title and sixth Grand Slam trophy overall. It was the first time in 114 years that a Wimbledon women's final ended without one player winning a single game.

Swiatek, seeded eighth, overwhelmed the 13th-seeded American with relentless consistency, winning 55 of 79 points despite hitting only 10 winners. Anisimova, playing in her first Grand Slam final, committed 28 unforced errors.

The result marks Swiatek as the eighth consecutive first-time women’s champion at Wimbledon.

Despite the crushing loss, Anisimova is set to break into the top 10 for the first time.
