Reggae Boyz miss out on automatic World Cup qualification

· The Gleaner

Jamaica missed out on automatic qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a scoreless draw with Curaçao at the National Stadium earlier tonight.

Needing a win to advance, Jamaica failed to find the back of the net in regulation time.

With the result, Curaçao clinched the qualifying spot by finishing atop Group B with 12 points, while Jamaica finished second with 11.

The Reggae Boyz will have a second shot at qualifying for the World Cup as they advance to the intercontinental play-offs as one of the top two second-placed teams.

Jamaica will be joined by Suriname in the play-offs, alongside Bolivia, DR Congo, New Caledonia, and Iraq.
