Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana was taken to a local hospital for medical assessment after being involved in a multi-car crash in Turkey on Thursday night, according to reports.

The Cameroon international, who is spending the season on loan in the Turkish Super Lig, was reportedly involved in the accident hours after helping his temporary side secure a clean sheet and victory over Scottish club Hearts in the Conference League.

The crash reportedly occurred on the Yomra road near the Black Sea resort of Trabzon as Onana travelled home from the fixture.

According to the Daily Star, the collision involved three vehicles in a chain reaction after another car allegedly struck the goalkeeper’s vehicle from behind at high speed, forcing it into the car in front.

Images and footage shared on social media reportedly showed significant damage to Onana’s car, including damage to its front wing, while the vehicle that struck him from behind had a badly damaged front end.

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan addressed concerns about the goalkeeper’s condition, confirming that the accident had occurred.

“Andre Onana was involved in a road traffic accident earlier this evening. There are no problems with him, and we wish him a speedy recovery,” Dogan said.

The 30-year-old was taken to a local medical facility as a precaution following the collision.
