Breaking: All 55 UEFA nations back World Cup boycott over FIFA proposal

According to The Times journalist Martyn Ziegler, the decision was reached during an emergency online meeting held by UEFA members on Thursday.
The meeting was convened to discuss FIFA’s proposal to establish the FIFA Forward Enterprise, a planned $20 billion subsidiary that would manage the FIFA World Cup and other major competitions.
Under the proposal, up to 20 per cent of the new company could be sold to external investors.

Following deliberations, the 55 UEFA members reportedly agreed unanimously to boycott all FIFA competitions, including the men’s FIFA World Cup, the Women’s World Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
The reported vote represents a significant escalation in tensions between UEFA and FIFA over the proposed restructuring of the commercial operations surrounding football’s biggest tournaments.
FIFA has proposed the creation of the FIFA Forward Enterprise as part of plans to oversee the commercial management of its flagship competitions through the new entity.
