Dembélé, Ronaldo, Bonmatí headline winners at 2025 Globe Soccer Awards

Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé, Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo and FC Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmatí, emerged as stand out winners at the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards, held in Dubai on Sunday.

The 16th edition of the ceremony, organised by the Dubai Sports Council at Atlantis, The Royal, recognised outstanding performances in global football over the past year.

Dembélé was named Best Men’s Player, while Bonmatí claimed the Best Women’s Player award, underlining the strong presence of PSG and Barcelona at the event.

Both clubs also secured the major team honours.

PSG was named Best Men’s Club, while Barcelona won Best Women’s Club.

In other individual categories, Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal won Best Forward and also received the Maradona Award.

PSG midfielder Vitinha was named Best Midfielder, while Désiré Doué picked up the Emerging Player award.

Cristiano Ronaldo was honoured as Best Middle East Player, a fan-voted award recognising top performers in the region’s leagues.

The 40-year-old Al-Nassr forward beat nominees including Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez and Salem Al-Dawsari.

PSG further dominated the coaching and technical awards, with Luis Enrique named Best Coach, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi winning Best President, and Luis Campos named Best Sporting Director.

Other honours saw Portugal named Best National Team, Right to Dream recognised as Best Academy, and Los Angeles Football Club winning Best Club Branding.

Special career awards were presented to Andrés Iniesta and Hidetoshi Nakata, while Paul Pogba received the Best Sporting Comeback award.

Tennis star Novak Djokovic was named Globe Sports Award winner, and Bilal Haddad of Koora Break won Best Content Creator.

The awards were decided through a mix of global fan voting and selections by the Globe Soccer Jury, made up of former players and coaches.
