CAF WCL: Edo Queens, FC Masar clash ends in draw
by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlineEdo Queens of Nigeria played a goalless draw with FC Masar of Egypt on Wednesday in Casablanca in the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League, tagged: “Morocco 2024.”
A win for either side would have them put one foot into the semi-finals of the competition, having both won their opening Group B games.
FC Masar was hoping to continue its impressive 1-0 win over defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, while Edo Queens, who cruised past Central Bank of Ethiopia 3-0 were hoping to build on the dominant performance.
In spite of the numerous chances created, neither of the debutants could break the deadlock and both sides shared spoils in the end.
The result sees Edo Queens maintain their lead at the top of Group B with four points, with FC Masar just behind them on the same number of points.

The goalless draw has set up a photo finish in Group B, with Edo Queens having to face a resurgent Sundowns who won 4-0 against CBE earlier, while FC Masar face the already knocked out Ethiopian side, who have lost their two opening games.
Both matches will take place on Saturday.
