Olympics qualifiers: 14 Super Falcons players arrive camp ahead of Comoros clash
by Moronfolu Adeyemi · The Eagle OnlineFourteen Super Falcons players have arrived in camp as Nigeria begin preparations for their 2028 Olympic qualifying tie against Comoros.
The Super Falcons announced the development in a post on their X handle on Monday, with the players now in camp ahead of the two-legged second-round encounter.
The players in camp are: “Farida Abdulwahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Joy Igbokwe, Fatimoh Solaty, Christiana Uzoma, Blessing Nkor, Valentina Uroko, Glory Edet, Sandra John, Shukurat Oladipo, Shakirat Moshood, Glory Ogbonna, Favour Omenazu and Suliat Abideen.”
Interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen had invited 28 players for the Olympic qualifying assignment.
The first leg is scheduled for Friday, October 9, while the return fixture will take place on Tuesday, October 13.
Both matches will be played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, with Comoros selecting the venue because the island nation does not have a Confederation of African Football (CAF)-approved stadium for international fixtures.
Nigeria received a bye into the second round of the Olympic qualifying competition, while Comoros advanced after defeating Sudan 30-0 on aggregate.
