Leicester City have dismissed manager Steve Cooper following their loss to Chelsea. The Foxes currently sit 16th in the Premier League after twelve games, with only two victories under their belt.

This decision marks the end of a short tenure for Cooper, who joined the club in the summer to replace Enzo Maresca. It was Maresca, now at the helm of Chelsea, who dealt the final blow as Leicester suffered a 2-1 defeat at the King Power Stadium.

This marked the Midlands team's sixth top-flight loss as they strive to secure their Premier League status after gaining promotion last season. First Team Coach Ben Dawson is expected to take over training duties, assisted by Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, while the club seeks to appoint a new manager promptly.

This is the second consecutive season that Cooper has been let go before the year's end. A statement from Leicester read: " Leicester City Football Club has parted company with Steve Cooper, who leaves his position as First Team Manager with immediate effect."

"Assistant Manager Alan Tate and First Team Coach and Analyst Steve Rands have also left the Club. Steve, Alan and Steve depart with our thanks for their contribution during their time with the Club and with our best wishes for the future.", reports the Mirror.

"Men's First Team training will be overseen by First Team Coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as the Club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to conclude as soon as possible."

Leicester are due to travel to St James' Park on December 14 for a Premier League clash against Eddie Howe's Newcastle United, with a new manager almost certainly to be in place by then.
