Grand National 2025 full list of runners and riders confirmed with 34-horse field

The final line-up of 34 contenders for this year's Grand National has been announced, with I Am Maximus aiming to defend his title following last year's extraordinary victory.

Willie Mullins is well-represented in the highly sought-after race, with Iroko and Meetingofthewaters attracting significant attention in the betting market.

The dynamics of the race have seen a considerable shift in recent weeks, particularly with the withdrawal of Cheltenham Festival Gold Cup champion Inothewayurthinkin, leaving the field wide open. A number of entrants are now vying for the position of favourite, including Gavin Cromwell's Stumptown and Vanillier.

Paul Townend, who rode I Am Maximus to victory last year, retains his mount on the horse. Minella Indo, who came third that day under Rachael Blackmore's skilled guidance, will pair up again this Saturday in an attempt to overturn last year's result.

John 'Shark' Hanlon has expressed confidence in Hewick's prospects over the past few days, with Gavin Sheehan set to ride the crowd-pleaser. Sheehan last partnered with the gelding in the 2023 King George, where Hewick made a spectacular finish to claim victory.

Mr Incredible, L'Homme Presse, Capodanno, Velvet Elvis and Minella Drama were all withdrawn earlier this week despite being assured a spot in the race, while Fontaine Collonges and Quick Wave also failed to confirm their participation, reports the Express.

The reshuffle has resulted in Nicky Henderson's Hyland, along with Horantzau D'Airy, Three Card Brag and Twig, moving into the top 34. The British trainer is yet to taste victory in the Grand National but has previously spoken highly of Hyland's prospects – Chantry House (100/1) being his only other contender.
