If you haven't got a ticket for Wembley and have left it too late to get a ticket for one of the paid for events for Newcastle v Liverpool on Sunday, the good news is that there will be a number of places offering FREE entry for the big game. Be warned though, you'll probably need to get down early to guarantee a good seats

Ever since Newcastle secured their spot at Wembley with a 2-0 second leg win over Arsenal at St James' Park on February 5, the city has been buzzing with anticipation for the final, United's second in just a few years, having lost out to Man United in a 2-0 defeat in 2023. But now, especially after Monday night's hard fought 1-0 win against West Ham, hopes are high that this will be the time the Magpies end their near 70 year wait for a domestic cup.

Given that this weekend's opponents Liverpool are the runaway leaders in the league, Newcastle will no doubt go into Sunday's final in the capital as the underdogs. However, with nearly 32,000 Geordies set to take their seats inside Wembley and plenty of support back on home soil, they will have no shortage of people cheering them on to hopefully cause an upset.

As soon as the final whistle blew at St James' last month, tickets went on sale for a number of fan zones for the final in Newcastle city centre, with the majority of them, including the ones in Times Square and tables at Market Shaker long since sold out. However, don't fret, as there are places will free entry for the match, just be prepared to put the hours in to get a prime view of the action.

St James' STACK

Now this is set to be THE place any NUFC supporters will be want to be in town on Sunday. Ever since it opened last August, in partnership with shirt sponsors Sela, St James' STACK has become a hotspot for fans, whether its for pre or post-match drinks after a home game at St James' Park or to cheer on Eddie Howe's men when they're on their travels.

Once Newcastle made it to the final, STACK were quick to confirm that they wouldn't be making it a ticketed event, with instead all access on Sunday on a walk-in only basis. Doors to St James' STACK will open at 10am and, given its popularity, there are bound to be queues outside before then to get in.

The Mayfair

A place that has cemented itself as a firm favourite amongst football fans in the last few years, The Mayfair has been packed out for events like the Worlds Cup, Euros, Champions League and United's last trip to Wembley two years ago.

All seats in the venue's Dolce Vite suite have been snapped up but, just like it was for the Euros final in July, the main bar will be open to everyone, with FREE entry on a first come, first served basis. Just like at STACK, you might need to prepare yourself to queue up to get in.

The WonderBar

Another popular place with United fans every single match day, just like STACK and Mayfair, The WonderBar in The Gate will be free to get into on Sunday.

And just like the other two, there are sure to be plenty of people keen to watch the match there, so you will want to get there in good time if it's top of your list for the final.

Newcastle University

Right underneath the uni's own Wetherspoons bar, Luthers, the Venue space will be home to the Carabao Cup final fan zone next Sunday, with the promise of drink deals and flag displays. Entry is FREE, with VIP balcony seating at an added cost.

The Grove

The much buzzed about music and clubbing venue on the outskirts of town its bringing back their "It's a Bar, not a Fanzone" Fanzone, offering free entry and no table reservations, with the day operating on a first come, first served basis.

Brinkburn Brewery

Sticking with places just outside of town, this should be a great spot on Sunday. Entry is free but tickets are available to reserve from Design My Night.

The Centurion

The bar that claims to have one of the biggest screens in town is sure to be packed on Sunday. In a great location at Central, if you're planning to get the Metro into town, this is a great option.

Revolucion de Cuba

The Cloth Market cocktail hotspot is promising 'big screens, a buzzing atmosphere, and plenty of drinks' as it shows the final on Saturday. You can reserve your spot for free via Eventbrite.
