Source close to Celtic man ‘doesn’t hide’ summer desire – Player has clear preference for summer

by · Sport Witness

Lech Poznań signed Celtic’s Luis Palma on loan last summer and have agreed a purchase option with Martin O’Neil’s side. It’s unclear whether he’ll return to Celtic Park after this season.

Two months ago, the winger said he hopes to join the Polish club permanently. Later that month, Lech Poznań spokesman Adrian Gałuszka said the door remains open for him to extend his stay.

The Celtic man has scored nine goals and contributed nine assists from 42 matches for the Polish club.

His league stats are as follows:

  • Appearances: 26
  • Starts: 15
  • Total minutes: 1,367
  • Minutes per game: 53
  • Goals: 7
  • Assists: 5

Lech Poznań haven’t made the final decision yet while the latest claims from the UK have said Sevilla as an option. Three days ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that the La Liga side officials are attempting to convince him for a summer move.

Celtic owned player’s future plans

Estadio Deportivo now got in touch with those close to the Honduras international for an update on the possibility of him joining Sevilla.

Sources close to Luis Palma inform them there has been no contact from Sevilla and are unaware of their interest so far.

However, the same sources indicate the Celtic owned player ‘doesn’t hide his desire’ to make a jump to a top European league. His preference is to make a switch to Spain.

Therefore, the 26-year-old would be delighted if the latest claims of Sevilla’s interest turn into an actual transfer. There’s a possibility to see Celtic sell him to the Polish club.

Lech Poznań can take this step by activating the purchase clause, and a decision on this won’t be made for several weeks.

If he returns to Celtic Park, then Martin O’Neil’s side have to make a decision. A fresh loan or a permanent transfer in the summer could be on cards.

Contract, value and agent info

Luis Palma’s contract with Celtic runs down in 2028 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €3.5m.
