Player ‘has said yes’ to Chelsea – Absolutely convinced on Blues, agent sorting it
by Naveen Ullal · Sport WitnessEarlier this week, the UK media reported on Chelsea’s interest in Juventus’ Douglas Luiz. Since then, others in the UK, Italy and Brazil have covered this story.
Two days ago, we covered the Brazilian take on Chelsea and his former club, Vasco da Gama’s interest.
Vasco have reached an agreement with the midfielder, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest. However, they couldn’t convince Juventus to make progress in the negotiations. This allowed Chelsea to swoop in.
Tuttosport provides the Italian take on the possibility of Luiz moving to Stamford Bridge in the winter market.
The Brazil international left Aston Villa for Juventus in June 2024. He failed to impress last season, and the Serie A side sent him on loan to Nottingham Forest. He made five starts and played 319 minutes from eight Premier League matches so far.
Sean Dyche has left him on the bench in the last two league games and handed Luiz only one start in the last five. The player has asked his agent, Kia Joorabchian, to find a new club in January.
According to the report, the agent found several options including Vasco da Gama, Liam Rosenior’s side and Ajax. The Club World Cup winners are capable of beating these clubs for the 27-year-old’s signature.
Chelsea transfer convinces player
Tuttosport state London’s calling Luiz and he ‘has said yes to Chelsea with conviction’. He is absolutely convinced about joining the Blues.
The two clubs need to find an understanding. The discussions are ongoing for a loan with an option to buy and fresh contact will take place this weekend. The agent seems to be working to sort out an agreement.
Juve would have accepted the conditional purchase obligation agreed with Nottingham Forest can’t be activated. Therefore, the Turin club see Chelsea as an attractive option for the South American.
The Old Lady believe the west London club wouldn’t have a problem to buy Luiz if he were to convince them. The signs are positive for Chelsea to find an agreement with Juve.
