“Brighton is a selling club” – Agent explains transfer situation for Seagulls client
by Pedro Reinert · Sport WitnessTalk around Diego Gómez continues to surface in Paraguay, and once again Brighton sit at the centre of the discussion.
This time, fresh comments from his representative added a more open reading of the situation, without changing the overall message of caution.
Speaking on Versus Sport, his agent Renato Bittar acknowledged the midfielder’s current form and the context around his name. “He is competing very well at Brighton. Today, there is nothing firm,” Bittar said.
But then he added an important detail about the club’s profile. “But Brighton is a selling club. So there is speculation about his possible sale to a bigger club”
However, the agent was quick to draw a line between interest and action. According to Bittar, playing regularly in the Premier League makes Gómez an obvious target for attention. “Being in the Premier League, logically the big clubs will follow him,” he explained.
Even so, he made it clear that this is not the right time to push the narrative further. “I don’t want to generate more attention because this is not the moment,” he added.
In Paraguay, those comments have been understood as recognition of visibility rather than a signal of imminent talks. The reading is that Gómez’s performances place him on the radar, but without any concrete process underway.
The tone from the player’s camp remains consistent at least. Brighton continue to be seen as the right environment for his development, while patience is treated as a key factor. Interest may grow, but timing still dictates the next steps.
For now, Gómez stays focused on competing, Brighton retain control of the situation, and speculation remains firmly in the background.
