Celtic approach not concrete yet – Bhoys need to get into transfer gear

by · Sport Witness

CD Guadalajara’s Armando González has ended up on both Celtic and West Ham United’s transfer radar. Martin O’Neill’s side and the Hammers will have to tussle with Barcelona to secure his services.

Sport Witness recently covered claims from Mexico of Celtic, West Ham and Barcelona’s desire to sign the 22-year-old.

The report mentioned of a contact with his agent, without specifying whether O’Neill’s side, West Ham or Barca have initiated talks with his representatives.

Celtic and West Ham approach not concrete

TUDN in Mexico relay claims made elsewhere of Celtic, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side and the La Liga winners and then cover the latest on González.

The Mexico international had an opportunity to make a switch to CKSA Mosco in the winter market. According to the report, the Russian club had submitted a $20m [€16.9m] bid to CD Guadalajara.

However, the move didn’t take shape because the forward turned it down in order to stay at CD Guadalajara. He did this with an intention of improving his chances of making it to the World Cup.

Feyenoord to challenge Celtic and West Ham

TUDN points out of recent claims of offers from Celtic, the Premier League side and Barca and insist ‘none of these offers were concrete’.

O’Neill’s side, West Ham and the Spanish giants have to be wary of a competition from Feyenoord.

Journalist Erick López now states the Eredivisie side are the only club to have approached CD Guadalajara for González.

As things stand, Celtic, West Ham or Barcelona haven’t approached the Mexican club over a deal for their top scorer. Feyenoord made an attempt but it’s unclear whether they’ll will make advances to acquire the player’s signature in the summer.

The Celtic and West Ham target has 17 goals and one assist from 24 matches in all competitions this season.

Two months ago, the Mexican club renewed his contract until 2029. This would put them in a comfortable position to negotiate his potential sale.
