Nottingham Forest secure chance to recover money on failed transfer – Medical booked in this weekend
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessArnaud Kalimuendo’s loan deal from Nottingham Forest to Eintracht Frankfurt will include a €25m option to make it permanently.
That’s according to BILD. They cover the transfer today, which is set to be completed at some point in the coming days.
The newspaper follows other reports in Germany that Nottingham Forest are on the verge of signing their new striker. There has been a breakthrough in negotiations with Nottingham Forest for Kalimuendo.
According to their information, final details still need to be finalised between the two clubs. But the deal will ultimately be a loan with an option for Frankfurt to buy the striker for €25m. That gives Nottingham Forest the chance to recoup most of the €30m they paid for Kalimuendo in the summer.
The Frenchman is expected to travel to Frankfurt this weekend to undergo a medical examination. At that point he will sign with the German side until the end of the season.
It’ll bring an end to a two-year hunt from Frankfurt for Kalimuendo. They’ve been keen on him for a while but have always missed out, including in the summer when Nottingham Forest beat them to his signature.
