Kicker spoke to the Leipzig manager and Fussball Transfers have covered his quotes on Brajan Gruda as He’s happy to have the attacker at his disposal.
“From day one, we all realised that he’s a player who can help us and whose character suits us perfectly,” he said.
“He fits in very well with the team. He’s a fine footballer, understands the game, and can play in several positions. We’re very happy to have him here. He makes us better and stronger.”
Leipzig haven’t secured a purchase option or obligation as part of the loan deal. As things stand, Gruda has to return to The Amex after this season.
On February 11th, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany that Werner’s side can’t buy him from Brighton. However, that didn’t stop Kicker from asking about Gruda’s potential stay beyond this season.
When responding to that, Werner explained: “Everything else will be a matter that will have to be settled between the clubs and between the player and the club. For now, we’re happy that he’s here and helping us achieve our goals. Time will tell.”
