Leeds United player sorting out visa – Travels tomorrow for transfer completion
by Sport Witness · Sport WitnessLeeds United face a delay on completing the exit of Jack Harrison, with bureaucratic issues slowing things down a little.
The 29-year-old has been working to complete a move to Fiorentina, and to try and help the club avoid relegation. La Viola got a good result on Sunday, beating Bologna 2-1 away from home.
Those three points have seen them climb out of the relegation zone, albeit only on goal difference. Fiorentina are on 17 points, the same as Lecce one place below them.
Harrison has already been in Florence in recent days. He travelled from Leeds United to undergo a medical at the club’s facilities. Whilst there he was seen in club gear, and spoke to reporters waiting for him, with the necessary: “Forza Viola, I’m so happy to be here.”
However, the winger wasn’t then able to start his new life in Tuscany. He’s had to return to the UK to get a visa to allow him to work in Italy.
Gazzetta dello Sport report, as long as the paperwork issues go smoothly, that Harrison will fly back to Italy on Monday. Then he can complete his exit from Leeds United.
Leeds United transfer should be completed quickly
Manager Paolo Vanoli is waiting to count on him, and there’s a hope Harrison will be available for next weekend’s match against Cagliari. That’s seen as a crucial relegation game, with the Sardinia club also in the fight.
Cagliari pulled off a shock 1-0 victory over Juventus on Saturday, pulling them away a little from the drop-zone.
As it stands, Harrison is expected to move on loan with an option around €6m. That comes after earlier reports Leeds United were initially asking for more than €15m.
Jack Harrison joined Leeds United initially on loan from Manchester City in 2018, with that then made permanent. He spent the last two seasons on loan at Everton.
