Two clubs ‘closely monitoring’ player at Crystal Palace – Hoping for January transfer window bonuses
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessCeuta president Luhay Hamido has revealed both they and Getafe are sat waiting for the potential money from Christantus Uche’s sale to Crystal Palace to arrive.
Estadio Deportivo cover comments from him today about the matter, and his clear hope that they can receive something before the January transfer window arrives.
Hamido has revealed that the midfielder needs to play in ten games as a starter for Crystal Palace for the optional purchase clause to become a mandatory one. At that point, Getafe will receive €19m for him.
“Uche’s money hasn’t arrived yet,” he said.
“He has to play ten games as a starter for the purchase to be considered; if not, he’ll return to Getafe again.
“If he plays those ten games, the loan with the right to buy is mandatory, and the corresponding percentage would be counted against us under Chapter 1 of the salary cap. If it’s before the winter transfer window, we could use him.”
Uche joined Crystal Palace on a loan deal from Getafe at the end of the transfer window. That deal includes a clause which will make it mandatory for them to buy him under certain conditions.
That is when Ceuta come into it as Diario Marca explain that they own 12.5% of the player’s rights, so could earn up to €2m if the conditions previously mentioned are met.
Thus, both they and Getafe are closely monitoring Uche’s performances, as a starring, and crucially starting role, for him at Crystal Palace could see them both earning and then moving in the January transfer window.
