Manchester United have been actively searching for upcoming talents across Europe and in South America.

The Red Devils have already made advances to bring Fortaleza CEIF’s Cristian Orozco. The Colombian will arrive at Old Trafford after turn 18 years of age in July.

Two months ago, he talked about his recent trip to Manchester United and the five-year contract that awaits him in England. Manchester United also have LDU Quito youngster Ederson Castillo on their agenda.

Manchester United invited Cork City’s 16-year-old, defender, Ikechimka Manjor, for a trial last week. The Premier League side can sign another rising star from Sweden.

Mjällby AIF youngster Zebedee Kennedy has publicly expressed his desire to join the Red Devils and Fotbollskanalen have relayed his comments.

The 15-year-old joined the Swedish club from Sundsvall last summer. Three months ago, Mjällby confirmed he’d signed a three-year contract. At that time, Labinot Bajrami, their scout and recruitment manager, was in full praise of the attacker.

“Zebedee is one of Sweden’s most interesting young talents and we are delighted that he is coming to us,” he said.

“There has been a lot of interest in him, both nationally and internationally. We identified him early in the year and succeeded.”

“Zebedee has, both with us and in the national team, shown an ability to pass players with high speed, have good position and timing in playability actions in the penalty area and really good finishing makes him a perfect player for Mjällby who has all the conditions to reach our first team in a relatively short time.”

On Tuesday, the Sweden U15 international scored in Mjällby’s 4-1 win over Artis Brno in the Atlantic Cup [friendly].

After talking about his goal, he discussed his big ambition to join Manchester United in the future. This is mainly to please his father.

“Of course, my dream is to play for my father’s favourite club, Manchester United. It would be nice to see him in a shirt like that with my name on the back,” he said.

Kennedy will at least need to wait until 18 to fulfil this dream.
