According to a claim in the Turkish media, Beşiktaş will allow Tammy Abraham to sign for Aston Villa before the end of this month.

The Premier League side are reportedly keen to bring in the 28-year-old as Unai Emery looks to improve his attacking options. With just Ollie Watkins as the Premier League side’s only out-and-out senior centre forward, the Spaniard is presented as being keen to bring Abraham back to Villa Park.

Fanatik report on the latest developments regarding Aston Villa interest in the Beşiktaş loanee. The Istanbul side won’t stand in the player’s way if a move to Birmingham is possible.

Beşiktaş manager Sergen Yalçın has held a meeting with the club’s hierarchy about transfer decisions. In those discussions, Yalçın reportedly said the player can join Aston Villa.

However, the Super Lig side have only loaned Abraham from AS Roma, with an option to purchase. That option turns into an obligation is certain conditions are met.

Subsequently, it’s likely the Serie A side will have to be involved in any potential transfer talks.

Aston Villa could get a useful squad addition

Abraham impressed for Aston Villa whilst on loan from Chelsea during the 2018/19 season. He scored 26 goals in 46 games with the Villains before returning to Stamford Bridge.

This season he’s scored 12 times in 25 appearances for The Black Eagles. Two of those goals have come over his past three league matches.

Clearly, he hasn’t had a bad record on loan and could be useful for Aston Villa. Beşiktaş may be trying to avoid hitting clauses which turn their purchase option into an obligation.

Those exact clause conditions are unknown, but the fee is thought to be around €13m.

West Ham and Brighton & Hove Albion were linked in the summer.
