Aston Villa in talks with club to cancel agreement – Player keen on new transfer chance

by · Sport Witness

Aston Villa are negotiating with RB Leipzig to cancel Kosta Nedeljkovic to cancel his loan deal as Fiorentina push for his signature.

That’s according to journalist Philipp Hinze. He reports that talks are underway regarding an early termination of his current loan deal. The outcome is currently still uncertain at this moment in time.

According to his information, Nedeljkovic is ready for a transfer. He is open to leaving Leipzig as his chances of regular playing are ‘slim’ at this moment in time.

Nedeljkovic joined the German side in February last year, with that deal due to expire in the summer. He’s only made 17 appearances for them since though and has only made six appearances totalling 297 minutes this season. He’s spent the last five league games on the bench as an unused substitute.

That’s opened the door to a potential early exit, with Fiorentina keen. A report in Italy today stated that they had turned their attention to the right-back and were trying to get him on deadline day.

Hinze now backs that up, reporting that they are ‘pushing hard’ for the signing. According to his information, talks are underway between Aston Villa to cancel his loan early. He’d then be free to join Fiorentina.

Valencia had also been in the mix, according to AS. The Spanish newspaper reports that ‘bureaucratic issues’ blocked the move. They had reached an agreement with Aston Villa and Leipzig for him.

The issue lay in the fact that Nedeljkovic would be registered as an under 23 player and not for a professional team, which requires a different visa process. That can take 2-3 months so the deal would be impossible.

Thus, the deal with them is now off. That’s seemingly opened the door for Fiorentina, who are now pushing to make the move happen on deadline day.
