Everto man on club’s transfer list – Departures could push move forwards

by · Sport Witness

Lazio are showing an interest in Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam before the end of the transfer window.

That’s according to journalists Gianluca di Marzio and Luca Bendoni. They both report that the Everton midfielder is on the Italian side’s list.

Di Marzio reports that Lazio ‘think about’ the Everton midfielder. Bendoni, meanwhile, reports that they are interested in him. He suggests that they might step up their interest, particularly if there are outgoings from the squad.

Neither mentions what type of deal Lazio would ask Everton about. They just say that Iroegbunam is a player on their list.

Whether Everton would sanction a deal isn’t made clear. Iroegbunam has been a regular under David Moyes this season.

But with Idrissa Gana Gueye back in the squad and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall close to a return from injury, his playing time will reduce in the coming months. Merlin Rohl has also seen more playing time in recent weeks while Harrison Armstrong has impressed after returning from a loan spell at Preston North End.

That’s without mentioning James Garner, who is a key player under Moyes as well. Playing time could be hard for Iroegbunam to come by. He would also represent a big profit for the Toffees after arriving for €10m in 2024.

Those are all factors to consider if Lazio step up in their interest before the end of the window. For now, it appears he’s just on a list.
