Finer details of Duran’s Aston Villa exit details – 1000% wage increase, big fees for former clubs
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessJhon Jáder Durán’s move from Aston Villa to Al-Nassr will be worth €77m plus €13m in bonuses, so €90m in total once the latter are reached.
That’s according to journalist Pipe Sierra, who provides a rundown of the details of Durán’s move from Aston Villa today.
He reports those figures, as well as stating that Envigado are set to receive €1.9m from the deal thanks to FIFA’s Solidarity Scheme. His former club Chicago Fire will also receive €8.5m from the deal, presumably thanks to a clause they retained after selling him to Aston Villa.
The striker will sign a five-and-a-half-year deal at the Saudi Arabian club and will receive a 1000% salary increase to boot. That contract will also include a bonuses for goals scored and titles won.
It is undoubtedly a mega deal, particularly when it comes to the finances, with Aston Villa pocketing a huge profit on the striker and his former clubs also benefitting nicely too.
The biggest winner is undoubtedly Durán, though, who will seemingly be earning sums that the likes of Aston Villa, and indeed plenty of European clubs, couldn’t even contemplate.
