Kévin Pedro: Everton and Bournemouth send official for defender transfer mission

by · Sport Witness

Everton and Bournemouth have AS Saint-Étienne’s Kévin Pedro on their transfer agenda for the summer.

The defender’s recent performances have caught the attention of Everton, Bournemouth and several other clubs.

He initially joined the Ligue 2 side’s academy in 2021 and made his way into their first team in August 2024.

The 20-year-old has made 19 appearances so far for the Ligue 2 side, operating mainly as a right-back and at times as a centre-back. The majority of these matches are from this calendar year.

His Ligue 2 stats this season are as follows:

  • Appearances: 14
  • Starts: 13
  • Total minutes: 1,184
  • Minutes per game: 85
  • Interceptions per game: 1.1
  • Tackles per game: 2.0
  • Ball recovered per game: 3.7
  • Clearances per game: 4.4
  • Duels won per game: 4.7

Everton and Bournemouth in transfer mix

The youngster’s development and potential have resulted in trasnfer interest from the Premier League, where Everton and Bournemouth are his suitors.

That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who report on Kévin Pedro’s interested parties and AS Saint-Étienne’s stance.

David Moyes’ side and the Cherries, along with Stade Rennais, Lille, RC Strasbourg and Bayer Leverkusen all sent their scouts to watch him closely.

Internally, the French club, led by their president Ivan Gazidis, aren’t planning to part ways with the versatile defender. Their aim is to return to the Ligue 1 with Pedro.

Saint-Étienne will only change their stance on the Frenchman if there’s an off-market offer. There’s no mention of their demand or the fee needed to convince them to sell.

For now, Everton and Bournemouth have sent their officials on a scouting mission. The two clubs have been the conditions to sign Pedro but it’s unclear whether either of them are willing to meet the price.

Andoni Iraola’s side would have to improve their defence in the summer. Last week, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain of their interest in Real Betis’ Natan, valued at €40m. Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Brentford are also keen.

Pedro lacks experience of playing at the highest level but would be much cheaper than Natan.

Contract, value and agent info

Back in January, Kévin Pedro signed a new contract until 2030 and Transfermarkt value him at €4m.

He is managed by agency MDC Advisors, who currently manage around 40 players of which 16 are in the top division.
