Timeframe on bonuses is only hold up on transfer to Nottingham Forest

Ousmane Diomande has been ordered to report for duty by Sporting Club de Portugal, despite an impending move to Nottingham Forest.

Record report that the central defender is currently awaiting the green light to link up with Oliver Glasner’s side.

Sport Witness covered a report yesterday explaining that a €40m move to the Premier League was pending for the Sporting defender. Nottingham Forest’s negotiations for him are in the final stages after Glasner pushed for his signing personally.

That report insisted that Ousmane Diomande was likely to miss Sporting’s friendly with Monaco this weekend, but Record report that he’s been ordered to report for duty

According to the newspaper, the transfer to Nottingham Forest is not yet finalised. A few details still need to be settled, particularly regarding payment terms.

Sporting want a fixed fee in the region of €40m plus €3-5m in performances-based add-ons. But they want these paid over a shorter time frame than the one proposed by Nottingham Forest. Negotiations are on going over that final point.

Last minute negotiations

But if there is no progress in those negotiations between the two clubs before kick-off at 7:30pm, Ousmane Diomande will have to report to Alvalade like the rest of the squad. It seems Sporting are making no exceptions, despite the 22-year-old potentially being their big sale of the summer.

The Portuguese side had initially wanted €50m for the centre-back but have been negotiated down by Nottingham Forest. Now it seems that they are insisting on their payment schedule be met instead.

Forest, of course, have plenty of money to spend following Elliot Anderson’s sale to Manchester City. That is perhaps an issue as Sporting know that finances are not a problem for Glasner and co.

Now they’re playing hardball in the final stretch. They clearly want to ensure they get the deal that they want rather than the one Nottingham Forest want.
