‘No obstacles’ for player to leave Wolves on deadline day – President leading negotiations
by Naveen Ullal · Sport WitnessBeşiktaş have shown serious interest in taking Emmanuel Agbadou from Wolves in the winter market.
Last month, several claims from Turkey insisted the centre-back would join the Black Eagles. On January 21st, Sabah reported he’d packed his bags to leave Wolves but the 28-year-old at Molineux. That hasn’t happened so far.
Last week, the Turkish media blamed Jorge Mendes, who has close ties to Wolves, for the breakdown in negotiations.
A fresh report from Sabah now states the deal to take Agbadou to Beşiktaş is back on track again. The Istanbul club have reopened this case.
The Ivory Coast international has a contract until 2029 but his heart and mind are already at Beşiktaş. According to the newspaper, Agbadou has informed Wolves he wants to join the Istanbul club and requested they a sanction a move.
Turkish journalist Sercan Dikme took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to also report on the Wolves defender.
He claims Rob Edwards’ side and the Süper Lig club have officially opened talks for the Ivorian.
According to the journalist, Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı is in contact with the English club’s officials. He’s likely leading the negotiations to sign the experienced centre-back in this window.
Dikme claims there were discussions between the two for the former Stade de Reims on Sunday. This has now become ‘official today’. He further adds ‘there are no obstacles at the moment’.
This would indicate the Turkish club are unlikely to face fresh setbacks in their latest effort to sign Agbadou.
The winter market in the UK closes later today. Beşiktaş have more time as the window in Turkey is open until February 6th, and this gives them more time to close the deal for the Wolves man.
