‘Plane is ready’ to take player to Nottingham Forest – Deal can be done today

Earlier on Thursday, Tuttomercatoweb were confident Lorenzo Lucca will soon join Nottingham Forest.

There was a belief the deal is on the verge of going through, even if Sevilla have entered the race for the striker. Indeed, the inclusion of the Spanish club appeared to be window dressing more than anything else.

Pisa have also offered loan until the end of the season but Nottingham Forest were, by far, the leaders in the race.

This came after a lot of back and forth. The Napoli player has taken some days to decide his future, having run out of game time under Antonio Conte.

In fact, a deal can be done today and Lucca is ‘increasingly closer’ to ending up at City Ground.

A move to Pisa would have represented a romantic return for him. The Azzurri player initially broke through there but Nottingham Forest have had an agreement with Napoli for some days now. They put forward an option to buy, which offers more guarantees than Pisa’s bid.

It should be noted that Lucca is currently only on loan at Napoli from Udinese. Conte’s side have an obligation to buy him permanently but that deal hasn’t gone forward.

The Partenopei would renegotiate terms with Udinese before the striker leaves. Even with that in mind, things seem to be going in the right direction for Nottingham Forest.
