Sturm Graz manager Fabio Ingolitsch has confirmed that talks are underway for Tochi Chukwuani to join Danny Röhl’s Rangers.

Kleine Zeitung have comments from the Sturm Graz manager today. He spoke to the press following a recent friendly against Club Brugge.

That game saw two prominent players missing from the Austrian side; Jon Gorenc Stankovic and Tochi Chukwuani. The latter has recently been heavily linked with a move to Rangers.

Kleine Zeitung confirmed he is being ‘courted’ by those in charge at Ibrox. And, according to Ingolitsch, talks are taking place behind the scenes. “There are talks between the clubs, but no negotiations yet,” he said when asked about the subject.

His comments follow similar from sporting director Michael Parensen earlier today. He was also asked about Chukwuani leaving after reports made it clear that Rangers were interested.

Those reports, on Wednesday, stated that Rangers had the midfielder on their radar and could look to take him to Ibrox this month. Parensen has confirmed that talks are underway to make that happen.

“Yes, we are in talks with Tochi,” he said to La Ola 1.

“He won’t be playing today. We don’t want to take any risks because something could happen, but it doesn’t necessarily have to.”

The outlet adds that, according to Sky Austria, the Rangers deal could be done for around €4.5m. this would secure a significant profit on the €200,000 they paid in 2024.
