Leeds United submit €30m plus bonuses offer for late January transfer
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessBack in 2024, Leeds United were mentioned as a suitor for Croatian attacker Martin Baturina.
At that point, the 22-year-old was at Dinamo Zagreb. In the summer of 2025, he joined Como for a fee of €18m and the move was hyped up a fair bit in Italy.
So far this season, he’s played 15 times in all competitions for the Serie A side, contributing to six goals. The season started slowly but the winger is now catching fire under Cesc Fabregas.
Interest from the Whites returned at the start of 2026, and is today being strongly pushed in Italy.
TuttoSport, in their Thursday edition, report on Como’s possible sales in January. Baturina gets coverage after he scored once and assisted in their impressive win over Lazio on Monday.
The newspaper claim that Leeds United have come forward for the Croatia international and offered €30m plus bonuses to Como. This has been rejected by Fabregas’ side, with the Whites having ‘no such luck’ when it comes to Baturina.
There is no indication of how much the Lariani want for the attacker. Some days ago, Fabregas himself had played down talk of the player’s possible switch to Elland Road, although he didn’t rule it out.
Leeds United may wait until summer for second go
Como may be trying to establish a future price-tag for Baturina. They have done the same for Nico Paz and Assane Diao in the past when both players were thriving.
Since Leeds United have previously been linked with the ex-Dinamo Zagreb player, mentioning them feels a convenient way of establishing Baturina’s value.
That said, Leeds United interest would make some sense given the player’s progress. He may well be suited to the Premier League, and this could be one to place on the back-burner for the summer.
Securing another season in England’s top flight would put Daniel Farke’s side in a better position for such transfer attempts.
