West Ham make ‘first contact’ for striker – Hammers path may be opening up

by · Sport Witness

In the past few weeks, Newcastle United and Tottenham have been linked with moves for Fiorentina’s Moise Kean and it now seems as if West Ham have also joined the race.

Tuttomercatoweb have looked at the Italian striker’s situation in detail and they maintain the stance that Kean has a release clause worth €52m in his Fiorentina contract.

There is rising competition for the player in the Premier League, with West Ham having made ‘first contact’ for the 25-year-old. Arsenal and Newcastle United have also done the same, after having initially evaluating their moves.

The report indicates that any transfer is still in a preliminary stage and West Ham’s potential move could come down to Kean’s wishes at the end of the season.

Arsenal have been looking for a new striker in the past few months and Newcastle United could also look to sign a striker, especially if Alexander Isak departs. Bringing in someone who struggled in England during his time at Everton might not go down well with Arsenal or Newcastle United fans, despite Kean’s great season.

The Gunners have been expecting a truly big name, and Newcastle United fans would probably be shocked if Kean was an Isak replacement.

That could open things up for West Ham.
