Cláudio Braga hints at plans after Hearts – Premier League dream

Cláudio Braga says he still dreams of reaching the Premier League, even as he enjoys a standout season with Hearts.

In an interview with Diário de Notícias, the 26-year-old Portuguese forward reflected on his rise from the lower leagues in Portugal and Norway to becoming one of Scotland’s top scorers. He already has nine goals for Hearts and believes his journey is only beginning.

In another part of his interview, Braga explained how happy he is with Hearts.

“I still have many dreams before reaching the highest point,” Braga said. “The Premier League is the best league in the world. I dream of that, of the national team, of the Champions League… The biggest competitions every player wants.”

Braga left Portugal in 2022 after feeling stuck in his career. He joined Aalesund in Norway and later caught Hearts’ attention, completing the move to Edinburgh earlier this year. His steady climb has brought recognition in both Scotland and Portugal.

Even so, the striker prefers to stay grounded. “Right now, I’m so happy here that I don’t even think about it,” he said. “If we manage something historic with this club, it might mean more than reaching those other levels.”

Braga’s mix of humility and ambition has turned him into one of the most admired players in the Scottish Premiership. And his story, from local football in Mafamude to a possible Premier League future, feels far from over.
