Florent Ghisolfi on site to secure Sunderland transfer – Final stages being worked on
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessSunderland’s incoming director of football Florent Ghisolfi is in Paris to oversee a medical for Noah Sadiki as he closes in on a €17m move.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri and Het Nieuwsblad, who cover the impending transfer today.
Tavolieri kicks things off by reporting that Sadiki is set to undergo medical tests at the American hospital in Paris. He states that Ghisolfi is already on site in the French capital to oversee them.
He is following up reports from earlier today that Sunderland had reached an agreement with Union St. Gilloise for the midfielder in a deal worth €17m.
Het Nieuwsblad add a little more detail, stating that there is an agreement in place between Sunderland and the Belgian side for the midfielder.
They say that despite reporting to Union on Tuesday, Sadiki now appears to be saying goodbye. He is on his way to Sunderland in a transfer that has not shocked anyone. He was expected to leave this summer, and reports had already linked him to Leeds, Brentford and a few German clubs.
Sunderland won the battle eventually and will pay around €17m for him. According to their information Sadiki has already passed a medical on Wednesday and will sign a five-year deal with the Black Cats.
He represents a great deal for the Belgian side, who only paid €1.4m to sign him in the summer of 2023. He will be their second most expensive departure.
