Chelsea talks over Rosenior have ‘intensified’ – BlueCo ensure that Strasbourg won’t ‘completely lose face’
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessLiam Rosenior’s arrival at Chelsea is becoming increasingly imminent, with discussions intensifying today.
That’s according to L’Equipe. They report that the sporting directors at Chelsea and Strasbourg have ‘intensified’ their discussions in the last few hours. Rosenior has been made a ‘top priority’ to replace Enzo Maresca.
A deal will now be made effective before the end of the weekend, though. Rosenior is expected to be on the bench for Strasbourg’s clash with Nice on Saturday.
BlueCo, who own both clubs, don’t want the French club to ‘completely lose face’ in the affair. They are planning for Chelsea to pay a transfer fee to Strasbourg for their coach. They will also use the next few days to a find a successor for Rosenior at the French club.
However, a deal is expected to be done shortly. There is now an increased confidence that Rosenior will replace Maresca at Chelsea as early as next week.
He admitted that Strasbourg and Chelsea had held talks about him today when he was questioned about the rumours during his pre-match press conference. That was after reports of him speaking to Strasbourg’s management about the rumours.
The situation appears to be moving quickly and now there’s a confidence in France that his appointment will be finalised.
