Manchester United ‘clearly signalled’ to club they’re interested in transfer – Keeping them and player on hook
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessManchester United have ‘clearly signalled’ to Bayern Munich in the last few hours that they are considering making a loan offer for Mathys Tel.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Manchester United want to be prepared in case Marcus Rashford departs.
Tel has been the subject of intense speculation this week after telling Bayern that he would like to leave before the end of the transfer window. That’s made him the subject of interest from several Premier League teams, including Manchester United.
They appear set to lose Rashford, who has also been linked with a move away throughout this month and reports today have Aston Villa closing in on his signature.
That’s seemingly set Manchester United on course to find a replacement and they’re continuing to keep Bayern on the hook over Tel. Plettenberg says they have ‘clearly signalled’ that they are considering submitting a ‘concrete loan offer’ for the forward.
He also adds that there is no agreement between the two sides for the Frenchman and United are looking at several options. Tel, for his part, is speaking to other clubs too and his management spoke to Aston Villa this morning. He has been left out of the squad for Bayern’s clash against Kiel today.
Whether he ends up at Old Trafford remains to be seen and at the moment they seem to be doing nothing more than keeping him and Bayern on the hook, waiting to do something more concrete.
