Arsenal star “will tell his manager” – Arteta to get direct transfer recommendation
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessArsenal defender Jurrien Timber may be promoting his brother, Quinten Timber, to Mikel Arteta and the Gunners for a transfer in future.
That’s according to ESPN commentator Vincent Schildkamp. He presented the idea of a transfer to the Emirates Stadium on Voetbalpraat, relayed by Football Transfers.
Timber has long been linked with a move away from current club Feyenoord. In the summer, it was West Ham who were pushed forward. He is one of the undisputed stars for the Dutch club and has had Premier League admirers for a while.
That is definitely the case at this moment in time as his current deal expires in the summer. He’s yet to agree to an extension and is currently free to talk to clubs around Europe about a free transfer in the summer transfer window. Arsenal may be one of them.
Multiple suitors expected for summer
Indeed, a report at the beginning of this month saw Everton pushed forward as his next destination. That came amid reported interest from Lazio, another of his potential suitors this year.
Where the 24-year-old ends up, if he does leave Feyenoord, remains to be seen. Schildkamp has another name to add to the mix, Arsenal.
They already have Timber’s brother, Jurrien, at the Emirates and the commentator believes he’ll be giving them recommendations about his sibling.
Arsenal could receive nudge from brother
“I can’t help but think that agreements have already been made with bigger clubs than Lazio,” he said.
“They’re saying: just finish the season at Feyenoord, make sure you go to the World Cup. We’ll make an agreement for the period after that. I really understand why he’s saying ‘no’ to Lazio. That’s simply beneath him.
“He’ll probably have some adjustment issues, but I think he can fit into Arsenal’s midfield. Surely Jurrien will tell his manager that he has a really good twin brother? If he’s going to extend his own contract in England, shouldn’t he just mention that his twin brother can be picked up for free this summer?”
Arsenal claism rising would be no surprise in the coming months.
