“I’m happy” – Andrea Radrizzani thrilled with move to sign Leeds United player
by Naveen Ullal · Sport WitnessLeeds United’s Jack Harrison has lost prominence at Elland Road this season. Daniel Farke has limited him to 263 minutes from 11 Premier League matches, of which only a minute came after November’s international break.
His situation at Leeds United hasn’t gone unnoticed. On December 30th, Marca reported Valencia were in the picture to sign the winger in the winter market.
Fiorentina have now come forward to sign the Leeds United player. Earlier today, claims from Italy reported they have reached an agreement in principle with the Whites. The move is in the final stages and can go through soon.
Firenze Viola, a website dedicating its coverage to the Serie A side, contacted former Leeds United owner, Andrea Radrizzani. They were curious to find out the Italian’s view on the 29-year-old’s possible arrival at Fiorentina.
The former Whites owner endorsed Fiorentina’s efforts to sign the attacker this month.
“Because Jack is, first and foremost, a great guy, a positive person, and a serious professional. He’s always disciplined, follows the rules, and is very focused,” he said.
“Beyond that, he’s also an excellent player: especially during his years with Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds, he achieved his best performances. He played the wing in a modern sense, covering the entire flank, both right and left. Often switching positions with great determination, desire, and a remarkable level of skill.”
Radrizzani advised on Leeds United transfer in summer
La Viola are 18th in the table, three points behind 17th placed US Lecce who have a game in hand.
Firenze Viola were curious whether Harrison can have an immediate impact, or will be a player Fiorentina have to recover.
“He’s played less, mainly because Leeds changed their playing system, going from 4-3-3 to 5-3-2, reducing the space for the traditional wingers. This has penalised him, but I’m confident he’ll be able to return to his usual level in a few weeks,” Radrizzani explained.
“In Serie A, with a much slower pace than the Premier League, he’ll be able to prove himself. Last summer, I already tried to advise his agent about bringing him to Italy. So, I’m happy this opportunity has come along, especially in a place like Florence.”
