Tottenham player explains being at another club’s Christmas party – With them at heart
by Sport Witness · Sport WitnessBy now, all Tottenham Hotspur supporters should be well aware of how talented Luka Vušković is. Spurs secured the defender from Hajduk Split, agreeing a transfer in 2023 which was then concluded in 2025.
The Premier League club sent the 18-year-old on loan to Hamburg for the current season, and he’s been a huge success. Indeed, Vušković has been so good that it’ll be no surprise to see him line up for Croatia at the World Cup.
That’s one of his dreams, and another is to play with his brother Mario at Hamburg. Currently suspended due to a doping violation, Mario will be able to play with Luka should Tottenham allow the latter to remain on loan beyond this season.
Another dream is to one day return to Hajduk Split, something the defender sounds determined to do. As an example of how close he still is to Hajduk, he even went to the club’s Christmas party.
This obviously caused some surprise, and Croatian newspaper 24Sata have asked the Tottenham player about it.
“They are all my friends and I am glad to see them. I follow all the games, they look good and I think they just need to continue like this so we will have a chance to look forward to the end of the season. I really hope, for the sake of my teammates and the fans, that we will win this year.”
24Sata noted that Vušković said “we” and referred to the players as his teammates, to which he replied: “That’s right. Hajduk is my club, I’m still a fan, and at heart a Hajduk player.”
And to make sure everyone knows his intentions: “I can’t wait to return to Hajduk one day.”
