Bargain move being eyed for Leicester City player – Belief less than €10m can do it

by · Sport Witness

In August 2024, AS Roma were linked with a move for Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumare.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported talks were held for the midfielder, who was interested in a switch.

A transfer didn’t go through. Now, the Leicester City player is being seen as a target again by Roma.

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Giallorossi are looking at options in England to improve their squad.

The newspaper notes that Soumare’s current deal at Leicester City runs out in 2026. The Foxes don’t want to lose him for free and could be open to a sale in January.

There is optimism that Roma can sign the Frenchman for less than €10m. Options are being considered but Soumare is seen as a target.

So far this season, the 26-year-old has played eight times in the Championship for Leicester City. He has been a mainstay in defensive midfield, starting over five games. He also played 31 times in the Premier League last season.

This can play a role in Soumare’s valuation increasing.
