Rob Edwards not counting on Wolves player and January exit now lined up
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessMarshall Munetsi could be set to leave Wolves in the January transfer window.
That’s according to L’Equipe. They report that the striker’s ‘deteriorating situation’ at Wolves under Rob Edwards could lead to a January departure.
They say that Munetsi has fallen out of favour under Edwards, having started the season at Wolves as a regular. He’s now out with a hamstring injury but the Welsh manager doesn’t seem to be counting on Munetsi anyway.
The newspaper reports that some French clubs would like to take advantage of that fact. One unnamed club has already made initial contact about a transfer. And there’s been indications that Munetsi wouldn’t be against returning to France either.
The 29-year-old previously spent nearly six years at Reims, before moving to Wolves at the end of the January transfer window this year. Wolves could even be open to a loan, something that would be ‘more advantageous’ for the French club showing an interest.
For now, it appears that it’s only at the initial interest stage. But the feeling is that Munetsi is no longer considered part of the plans at Wolves moving forwards under Edwards.
