Everton can accept €8-10m for midfielder – Toffees hold out for €15m
by Sport Witness · Sport WitnessBeto’s agent flew to Istanbul towards the end of the week, trying to engineer a transfer for the Everton player. Fenerbahçe had been interested, as the Turkish club to secure a replacement for Youssef En-Nesyri.
The Morroco international has been close to an exit for weeks, and is now on the verge of a Juventus transfer. Fenerbahçe had initially offered a loan plus option move to Everton, who rejected that. After some back and forth, the Premier League club told Fener it would be €20m for Beto.
Fenerbahçe baulked and Beto’s agent left Istanbul.
Whether the agent travelled to Merseyside to try and negotiate, or went to Italy to drum up interest is unclear. Beto wouldn’t be Everton’s only potential piece of business in Serie A this month.
For a couple of weeks there’s been mild rumours regarding Timothy Iroegbunam. Now those rumours have got a little more serious.
Iroegbunam moved to Everton in June 2024 from Aston Villa. This year under David Moyes, the 22-year-old has made 19 appearances. He’s certainly a used member of the squad and someone who can’t be discarded without second thought.
Nevertheless, Calciomercato report Lazio are willing to pay €8-10m for the midfielder. That isn’t enough for Everton, with the same source stating the Premier League club want around €15m.
Iroegbunam’s contract runs until June 2027, which puts some pressure on his situation from the summer. Regardless, losing a frequently used player for the amounts mentioned doesn’t make a great deal of sense unless he is immediately replaced.
