Manchester United pause transfer – Red Devils cause frustration after agreement

The Premier League side have been focusing on the midfielder, after signing both Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
Manchester United have been in constant contact with Koné’s agent, and he wants to move to the Premier League.
Two days ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that the Red Devils have reached an agreement in principle with the player. They are preparing to offer a fee close to €50m while the Serie A side are requesting €60m.
On Friday, the Italian media pushed Paris Saint-Germain’s interest, probably as a tactic from Roma to put pressure on his genuine suitors.
Pressure tactics not impacting Manchester United
Saturday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport has a report titled: ‘Koné on his way out, but United aren’t moving forward’.
Within the report, the newspaper explains the France international’s club teammate, Neil El Aynaoui, is attracting Premier League interest. However, AS Roma have no intention of parting ways with him this summer.
That isn’t the case with Manu Koné, as he is on his way out. Michael Carrick’s side are keen and the Italian club have been waiting for their offer.
However, the Old Trafford club haven’t made concrete advances and are ‘moving slowly’ to try and complete his signing.
Manchester United frustrating Roma
This doesn’t please the Giallorossi, especially since they want to get rid of him in the next week.
Corriere states: ‘The club would like to complete a transfer by July 31st to meet the parameters of the settlement agreement, the deadline for which has been extended by UEFA until the end of the month.’
The lack of urgency from Manchester United is frustrating Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, especially since they need to raise funds.
Manu Koné is likely to return to training on August 10th, and that gives Manchester United time to secure his services.
