‘Could be on his way to UK’ – Everton may finally be adding a fullback
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessEverton have been linked with a host of full-back options over the past couple of years. They can finally land one from Serie A.
Some weeks ago, Sport Witness covered how Bologna’s Emil Holm was a viable target for. Those around the right-back are engineering a move to England, with the Toffees having stepped forward for him in January.
They did the same for Genoa’s Brooke Norton-Cuffy. David Moyes’ side seemed better placed to sign the Englishman than West Ham but a formal move never materialised.
Now, attention around Atalanta’s Raoul Bellanova has quickly grown. The right-back is attracting interest from Everton and a summer move appears possible.
England seen as destination
TuttoSport look at how the Bergamo club can sell Bellanova, even if they are also selling Marco Palestra to Chelsea this summer.
The Italian’s sale can hand them the financial muscle to make more signings, with Nottingham Forest’s Nicolo Savona and Cagliari star Gianluca Gaetano emerging as major targets.
As for Bellanova, he ‘could be on his way to UK’. He is quite popular with Everton, who now need to take action after their long fullback hunt.
Tottenham and Nottingham Forest have also been linked with the Italian but TuttoSport don’t mention them as suitors. This may suggest the Toffees are currently the favourites to land him. It has been previously suggested that a €20m fee could prove enough.
Our take: Gamble can pay off
Atalanta appear quite keen on parting ways with Bellanova, especially as he had a frustrating 2025/26 campaign. He also suffered a muscle injury that derailed his progress.
Profile wise, the 26-year-old loves to push forward and thrives while in attacking situations. This has allowed him to often fill in as a winger too. His final ball is inconsistent but he still offers some value to the side through his pace.
Everton should take note of that, even if the concerns over a deal are obvious – as mentioned. For a fee in the region of €20m, the Toffees can take the gamble.
