‘Hot hours’ for Aston Villa transfer – Monchi in constant contact with director of football
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessLeon Bailey’s move from Aston Villa to Roma is now in the ‘hot hours’ and his agents are now expected to travel to Italy to finalise the move.
That’s according to journalist Orazio Accomando, who reports that there is constant contact between Aston Villa director of football Monchi and his Roma counterpart Frederic Massara over the deal.
According to his information, the figures of the deal have now been finalised. Bailey will be moving on loan for an initial €4m and the Italian side will have an option to buy him permanently next summer for €16m.
A deal for the Jamaican winger has been progressing this week, with him missing Aston Villa’s opening day clash with Newcastle United as a result.
A report on Saturday morning stated that an agreement had been reached for the transfer and even claimed that Bailey would be travelling for a medical and then to sign his contract.
Accomando certainly backs that up, reporting that the deal is now in the hot hours and Monchi is in constant contact with Massara to get it over the line and finalised.
